One of the original founding members of Empowered Young Men,
Kevin Thompson serves as the President of Marketing and Director
of EYM Advocacy. He is responsible for defining the organization's
marketing objectives and executing the marketing strategy. He
is also responsible for the development and execution of EYM's
advocacy initiatives which involve increasing the number of black
male mentors, schoolteachers, and actively involved fathers.
Kevin was born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in the Detroit metro
area. He received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
from Northwestern University. He is currently attending the University
of Michigan, Ross School of Business working on earning his Masters
of Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing and Corporate
Strategy.
Over the past five years at Ford Motor Company, Kevin has developed
and managed the implementation of a Global Blue Oval DNA customer
brand strategy that encompasses Ford North America, Ford of Europe,
Ford Asia-Pacific, and Ford of Mexico. Brand DNA has served as
the framework behind Ford vehicle platforms and steers strategic
direction for all future products as the company concentrates
wholly on global platforms and products.
Kevin has a strong interest in reaching out to the community
and helping young men pursue and achieve their dreams. He has
taken on mentoring roles in the past and looks forward to continuing
in this role using life lessons to help develop our future leaders.
