A native of St. Louis, Kimberley Crouch graduated with a degree
in Journalism from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a law
degree from the University of Illinois-Champaign-Urbana.
Writing has always been her passion. As a child, Kim spent hours
writing books and poetry as well as television and film scripts.
As an intern reporter for The St. Louis Post Dispatch, Kim researched
and wrote about many issues facing urban youth including an in
depth look at life in the Blumeyer Housing Projects. In 2000,
Kim decided to pursue her passion for writing again and founded
Life Works Productions, a production company geared toward the
empowerment of women. The company currently produces both an inspirational
newsletter and one devoted to helping women create and keep wealth.
In April 2006, Kim founded First Generation Publishing, a publishing
company that publishes and markets books that address issues of
concern to African-Americans. In June 2006, she published her
first book: Mother To Son: Words of Wisdom, Inspiration and Hope
for Today’s Young African-American Men.
Kim recently received her certificate in feature film writing
from UCLA and is working on various projects. She is married and
the mother of two boys. She is also a board member of Urban Opportunities,
a nonprofit focused on at-risk youth, and 4 His Glory Ministries,
a faith based community organization. She is also a member of
